The only guarantee we make
If it breaks under normal use in its first year, we replace it or refund the price basis you paid.
No receipt archaeology, no "contact the manufacturer" runaround. This page states exactly what that covers, what cancels it, and the steps to make a claim — nothing broader than what's written here.

What this guarantee is, in plain terms
Every item in the Vexnaros catalogue — the raised bed kit, the loppers, a $9 utility knife, all of it — carries the same promise: if it breaks under normal use within a year of you having it, we make it right. That means a replacement of the same item if we have stock, or a refund of the price basis you paid if you'd rather have your money back. You choose. We don't route you to a manufacturer's warranty line or ask you to dig up a receipt from fourteen months ago before we'll talk to you; a purchase we can find in our own records, or your word backed by the broken item itself, is enough to start.
This is the only guarantee Vexnaros makes. We don't claim a certification we were never issued, we don't publish a star rating nobody gave us, and we don't promise anything beyond what's written on this page. If a page elsewhere on this site implies more than a one-year breakage replacement or refund, this page is the one that governs.
What counts as breakage
Breakage means the item failing structurally in the way it was built to resist — a hammer head separating from its handle, a hose fitting splitting at the seam, a hinge on the coat rack pulling out of the wood, a blade snapping rather than dulling. It covers a fault in the material or the build, not the ordinary wear that any tool takes on over a season: a saw blade going dull, gloves wearing thin at the palm, or a boot sole losing its tread after regular work are not breakage, they're use.
Steel that bends where it should hold — the kind of failure described in our own product notes, where a cheaper gauge of steel takes a bend instead of holding one — counts as breakage if it happens within that first year under the load the item was sold to carry.
Covered
- Structural failure of the item itself within 12 months of purchase.
- A fault present from new that only became obvious with normal use — a weak weld, a split handle, a seam that lets go.
- Failure under the specific use the item was sold for, stated on its catalogue page.
Not covered
- Damage from a drop, a collision, a fire, or any accident unconnected to how the item was built.
- Normal wear — dulled blades, worn palms, faded finish, flattened gel inserts.
- Any item modified, repainted, re-handled, or repaired by someone other than Vexnaros after purchase.
- Use outside what the item was sold for — a hand trowel used as a pry bar, a kitchen apron used as a welding smock.
What voids the guarantee
Three things end it early. First, misuse — using an item for a job it wasn't built for and breaking it that way. Second, an accident that has nothing to do with the item's own construction, like leaving a cast iron trivet out through a hard freeze and having it crack, or running over the garden hose with a mower. Third, any repair or modification made by anyone other than us; once someone else has opened it up, re-welded it, or refinished it, we can no longer tell what caused the failure, and we won't guess in your favor or against you. None of this is a loophole dressed up as a policy — it's the same three exclusions on every item, stated once, here.
Making a claim
Claims go through a person, not a form that disappears into a queue. Here's exactly what happens.
- Call or email us. +1 (448) 555-8118 most afternoons, or office@vexnaros.com any time. Tell us the item and roughly when you bought it.
- Describe or show the break. A photo by email is enough for most items; for anything we're unsure about, bring it to 45 River Road, Büro 5, Austin.
- We check it against normal use. The same person who checked the item before it left the shop looks at what failed and how. Most calls get an answer the same day.
- You get a replacement or a refund. Replacement ships or is ready for pickup within three days, the same as a first order. A refund covers the price basis you actually paid, returned the way you originally paid it.
Why we only promise this much
We're four people running one storefront and yard on River Road. We can inspect a broken hammer ourselves, decide honestly whether it failed or was misused, and either hand you a new one or your money back within the same week — that's a promise we can actually keep, every time, because we control every step of it. A lifetime warranty, a satisfaction guarantee, or a certification from a body that never inspected us would be easy to print and impossible for a shop our size to honor consistently. So we don't print them.
